Five of the Most Common Parasites Found in Humans
- 4-17-2009
- Categorized in: Monatau Extreme, Parasites
Tapeworms
The tapeworm is one of the largest foreign inhabitants of the intestinal system. Like a few other parasitic worms, they attach themselves to the intestinal wall with by their heads. Their bodies grow in sections and can get up to twenty feet long twisting, turning and binding up the intestines, slowly moving to other parts of the body. As long as the head is attached, a new worm can grow from it, if the sections of the worm were to come apart. Tapeworms most commonly infest the intestines but can move to muscles, organs, and even your brain. Being one of the largest parasites found in a human, it has the ability to void your body of essential nutrients very fast.
An adult female can lay as much as 100,000 eggs each time she lays and that can be as often as every day. Inner body tissues make a nice, warm, and undisturbed breeding place for its slithery offspring.
A few signs that you may have a tapeworm may include: headaches, stomach aches, diarrhea, increase in appetite in conjunction with dramatic weight loss, cravings for strange food and sugary starchy foods, bloody stools, constipation, bloating, intestinal pain, weakness, dizziness, very low mineral absorption. Tapeworms can form infectious cysts in the tissue walls to lay their eggs. Symptoms of an invasive infection can include: fever, cystic masses or lumps anywhere in your body, decreased immune system, bacterial infections, neurological damage and failure (if in the brain or CNS area, seizures, and allergic reactions to the larvae.
Candida (Yeast)
Candida is probably one of the very most common parasites in men, women, and children. Candida never comes one microbe at a time; they form massive colonies throughout the entire body. Most people will live with Candida for the rest of their lives never even knowing they have it. Many of these people may have numerous health conditions that are actually caused by the Candida. Candida can manifest in many ways other than the common yeast infection in women. Candida, like most parasites can actually affect you mentally as well as physically because it is in direct communication with your body's frequencies. With more Candida in your body, your body changes more, and it does it in the favor of the parasites, making their environment suitable for them.
A few signs that you may have Candida are: (and by no means is this a complete list) blurry vision and 'floaters' in the vision, overall itchy skin or dry, peely, itchy patches on skin, white spots and discoloration of skin, severe diaper rash in babies, acidic pH, dark circles under eyes, fatigue, foggy memory, being skittish or nervous, irritability, depression, anxiety, mood swings, withdrawal like symptoms, obsessive behavior, IBS, gluten intolerance, constant low grade fever, endometriosis and other menstrual problems, increased vaginal discharge, low sex drive, and a lowered immune system.
*Helpful Hint: Many of our readers have found relief of vaginal yeast by using a douche made of one part Monatau to four parts water every day as needed.
Hookworms
This is perhaps the scariest looking parasite I have ever seen. A blown up picture of one looks like something out of a horror film. Luckily many are less than an inch long.
Hookworms are another intestinal raiding worm. They have a rounded head with large hook-like probes that it uses to latch onto its victims. It is estimated that nearly one if five people will have a hookworm infection; nearly one billion people. The most common species of hookworms are Ancylostoma duodenale, found mostly in southern Europe, North Asia, South America, and Northern Africa. It wasn't until early within the last century that the second species Necator americanus was introduced into the southeastern region of the United States. The spread of hookworm infections were so pronounced that The Rockefeller Sanitary Commission was formed to control the infections.
Hookworms are primarily contracted from soil, and especially soil contaminated with feces. The main way they enter your body, is to latch onto the bottom of your foot as you are walking barefoot in dirt or grass. People should take extra precaution around barns, stables, and other places that feces (animal or human) could be present. Children tend to be more prone to hookworm infections because they play in dirt and sandboxes more than adults do, but interaction with children does not increase your chances of infection.
Pin Worms
Pin worms (Enterobius vermicularis) are the most common type of roundworm to invade human bodies in the U.S.. They can range from about .2" to .4" and use their heads to bore holes in the intestinal walls. Thousands of them can weave through tissues of the intestinal tract to create a massive, colon-blocking colony. Using their pointy heads, the pin worms make small incisions in the anal area of the host in which to place their eggs. This reproductive ritual takes place during the night and can sometime be detected by itching of the genital and anal area. Throughout her lifetime, a female pin worm can lay millions of microscopic eggs.
An infection caused by pin worms can go un-noticed for quite some time because they are so small. You can have hundreds of pin worms in your intestines before any symptoms arise. As the colony grows in masses, you will start to notice a slight digestive disturbance.
Long term problems from a pin worm infection could include, anemia, weight loss, IBS, bowel blockage that could create a condition suitable for colon cancer, and severe nutritional deficiencies.
Pin worm infections are most common among families with children, nail biters, and people with poor hygiene, but they can still happen to anyone. The eggs are so small that they can easily attach to almost anything and become ingested.
Pin worms are extremely easy to pass around. It is very important for all family members to do a parasite detox together because of how easy it is to re-infect each other.
Ringworm
Although ringworm is called a worm, it really isn't one at all. It gets its name from the circular red shape it leaves on the skin. It itself is not defined as a parasite; it is the infection resulting in fungal parasites that live on your skin (dermatophytes). It does differ from other parasites in that it does live off of your body and causes damage to it, but it usually doesn't cause death. There are several forms of ringworm, some include:
* Tinea Corporis (fungus, body) is a type of ringworm that affects any part of the body.
* Tinea Cruris (Jock Itch) is a type of ringworm that affects the genital, thigh and anal area.
* Tinea Capitis (Ringworm of the scalp) is a very common type of ringworm that is found on the scalp often leaving bald spots.
* Tinea Pedis (Athlete's foot) is a type of ringworm fungus that is present in between toes and on the bottom of the feet.
Some signs that you may have common ringworm (tinea corporis) are an itchy raised and puffy red circle, or round, dry, and whitish patch on your skin.
Ringworm is highly contagious and can be passed from person to person by skin contact of the infected area, or contact with an object that touched the infected area. It can also be spread by contact with infected animals and soil containing the fungus.
*Helpful hint: Many doctors will prescribe an anti-fungal topical cream or pills to treat parasite infestation.
What we have traditionally done in the past:
Externally: Mix 1oz. ElectraLight in a 16oz. water spray bottle. When you get out of the shower/bath pat the skin dry and mist your body with the ElectraLight treated water spray bottle and apply a cotton ball of Monatau Extreme to the affected area.
Internally: Use 1 oz. Thrive, 1 oz. Monatau Extreme and ElectraLight treated water until the problem goes away.
