Kitchen Wrap's Secret
- 6-3-2008
- Categorized in: Tips
Most of you have probably been using aluminum foil for years. Although it is great stuff, we all know that it can sometimes be a pain. It's a nuisance when you are in the middle of something and need to grab a quick piece of foil, but as soon as you pull on the roll it comes flying out of the box and you have to start all over again.
Well I would like to share with you a littel secret that has been hiding from most of us for some time now. The other day when I went to throw out an empy Reynolds foil box, I for some reason turned it and looked at the ends of the box. Wouldn't you know that right there on the ends of the box were the words "Press Here to Lock End." Sure enough, if you press the tabs, the roll locks into place. Naturally I had to check my drawer to see if any other boxes had this convenient little feature, and I found that generic brands of aluminum foil and Saran wrap boxes have the same thing.
I am hoping that I am not the only one out there who didn't know this trick, because I am sure these tabs have existed for quite some time. I am sharing this with you because this feature really does make using aluminum foil and Saran wrap less irritating and much easier to work with. All you have to do is press each tab located at the ends of the box, and your roll is secured into place. I encourage you to pass this on to your friends and family so they may know about this secret also.
