High Blood Pressure

About Blood Pressure
Blood pressure is determined by two numbers,(systolic) measures the blood pressure against the walls of the arteries and veins when the heart is pumping. Diastolic measures the same pressure when the heart is at rest in between pumps. Normal blood pressure should be at or under 120/80. It is estimated that one in every three people have high blood pressure. 33% of those who have high blood pressure experience no symptom and don't know they have high blood pressure. If high blood pressure is not managed properly it may promote risks of heart failure, stroke, kidney failure, heart disease and other health risks.

Cause of High Blood Pressure
Many things can be linked to high blood pressure including age, gender and lifestyle. Some may be more prone to high blood pressure but it is important to note that anyone can develop high blood pressure. The liver converts fats into cholesterol. Bad cholesterol (LDL) has been known to clog up arteries and veins resulting in high blood pressure. 96% of the red blood cell is water. If we become dehydrated the blood may thicken causing high blood pressure. Stress and anxiety may cause a production of hormones that may raise heart rate and cause high blood pressure. If the body can't eliminate toxins properly then toxins may accumulate in the blood stream causing high blood pressure.
