Many parents around the country have discovered that Ritalin has become a condition for their children continuing in school. There are even reports, by parents, of threats from social agencies: “If you don't allow us to prescribe Ritalin for your ADHD child, we may decide that you are an unfit parent. We may decide to take your child away.” This mind-boggling state of affairs is fueled by teachers, principals, and school counselors, none of whom have medical training. Yet even if they did…
The Excuse to Regulate - Control vs. Freedom

Let us go back in time to 1937. Despite the unscrupulous purveyors of useless or sometimes dangerous medications (which are the norm today even though granted approval by the FDA), Congress and Americans were dead set against giving the FDA much power. At this time sulfa drug antibiotics were all the rage. Along came a clever chemist, Harold Watkins, working for a small Tennessee-based drug company, S.E. Massengill Company. He added diethylene glycol to the sulfa drug and mixed in some flavoring and presto – the first liquid antibiotic was born. Now parents could easily get their children to take sulfa drugs. Within days of taking the drug children went into delirious pain as the diethylene glycol destroyed their kidneys.

Many times the whole content of the written clinical tests are not all that favorable to the drug but that, of course, is not reflected in the capsulated, controlled synopsis that appears in the medical journals. In 1994, Dr. Paula Rochon, adjunct scientist for the Kunin-Lunefeld Applied Research Unit and several of her colleagues wrote a paper examining the impact of journals which were paid to publish controlled excerpts of clinical studies had on the medical community's acceptance of the drugs compared to actual medicinal value of the drugs examined. The study focused on one class of drugs only: nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs designed to combat arthritis. They found 56 trials. Not one of the published reports on the clinical studies presented any facts that were detrimental to the drugs tested.

To say that a virus is the main cause of cervical cancer is no more than a hypothesis. We all know that there are many environmental influences that cause one to have cancer. We are giving “False Hope” to parents when we state this vaccine will reduce the chances of their children getting cervical cancer. Another concern, like all the other vaccines recommended, there are no long-term safety or efficacy studies done on this vaccine and the short- term studies are of great concern.
The Depressing News About Antidepressants

Yes, the drugs are effective, in that they lift depression in most patients. But that benefit is hardly more than what patients get when they, unknowingly and as part of a study, take a dummy pill—a placebo. As more and more scientists who study depression and the drugs that treat it are concluding, that suggests that antidepressants are basically expensive Tic Tacs. Hence the moral dilemma. The placebo effect—that is, a medical benefit you get from an inert pill or other sham treatment—rests on the holy trinity of belief, expectation, and hope.
