America’s black pastors have sold out their people. Oh, they didn’t mean to do it. The catastrophic results of the destruction of the family have overwhelmed them. Poverty, illiteracy, illegitimacy, drug use, and government dependency has robbed many of their dignity. In a cry for help in dealing with the massive social consequences of sin, they have turned their eyes toward Washington and the government programs that they prayed would rescue them. They eschewed the moral precepts of the Bible that had sustained their people through the scourges of slavery when their personal morality sustained them......

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago. And our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. What happened? Can you spell ‘politicians!’ And I still have to ‘press 1' for English........

I had been asked to address the opening day assembly of a local Christian School. I came out of the chute fast as I usually do, especially with young people. In this youth-culture where everything is “extreme” I want to make sure that the audience knows that it is ok to be extreme for Jesus. I spent nearly thirty years dealing with kids and have learned that the best way to keep their attention is to.......

We are in trouble in America because the pulpits have gone silent. There are several different reason why this has happened but the greatest lie has been that one’s religion has no place in politics. For most of us, our religion frames our worldview, the way we see the events around us, and because of the tyrannical courts and their misapplication of the First Amendment, Christians have been forced to keep their views locked up inside their “stained glass fortresses.”

“Obama ain’t black.” I turned to look over my shoulder to see who had uttered that ridiculous statement. “Pardon Me?” I squinted at the dark-skinned man who had just interjected himself into my over-coffee conversation with my buddy, Kevin. “Obama ain’t black.” He said again more matter-of-factly as he walked around the porcelain dividing wall and stood at our table where he could be more active in our conversation.
Does it make me un-American if I tell you that I don’t believe hardly anything I hear from our government anymore? Daily, our government is becoming more and more removed from the will of the people. I want to gag every time I hear one of our elected officials start pontificating on what “the American people want.” They are so removed from the people that they really have no idea, and they really don’t care what the American people want.

Hell is the farthest thing from the minds of Americans. In fact, I have heard the mantra many times that “this is hell right here on earth.” Funny, that isn’t what Christianity teaches. No, most “Christians” today think that they are going to go to Heaven because they are “a good person”, or they “go to church”, or they “try to do what is right”, or my favorite, “I was born a Christian”. How can any Christian study the Bible and come to that conclusion?

A
successful commentary touches the heart. “Amen Coach.” Or “Go to
hell, you bigot.” That’s what I hope readers are saying as they
read the oozing of my heart.

I spent last Saturday at the Gay Pride parade in Columbus, Ohio. I try to go every year, at least for the past seven or so. Try as I might to avoid the confrontation there is just something inside of me that will not allow me to stay home. There were about twenty of us who made the decision to go. For several it was the first time they had ever ventured outside the safety of their church.

"Who will rise up for Me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity" "Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence."
